Richard M. Satava, M.D.

Professor Emeritus of Surgery University of Washington, Medical Center
Richard Satava, MD, FACS, is Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center, and Senior Science Advisor at the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command in Ft. Detrick, MD.

Prior positions include Professor of Surgery at Yale University and a military appointment as Professor of Surgery (USUHS) in the Army Medical Corps assigned to General Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Program Manager of Advanced Biomedical Technology at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA),

His undergraduate training was at Johns Hopkins University, medical school at Hahnemann University of Philadelphia, internship at the Cleveland Clinic, surgical residency at the Mayo Clinic, and a fellowship with a Master of Surgical Research at Mayo Clinic.

He has served on the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) Committee on Health, Food and Safety. He is currently a member of the Emerging Technologies and Resident Education, and Informatics committees of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), is past president of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), past president of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS), and is on the Board of Governors of the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) as well as on a number of surgical societies. He is on the editorial board of numerous surgical and scientific journals, and active in numerous surgical and engineering societies.

He has been continuously active in surgical education and surgical research, with more than 200 publications and book chapters in diverse areas of advanced surgical technology, including Surgery in the Space Environment, Video and 3-D imaging, Telepresence Surgery, Virtual Reality Surgical Simulation, and Objective Assessment of Surgical Competence and Training.

During his 23 years of military surgery he has been an active flight surgeon, an Army astronaut candidate, MASH surgeon for the Grenada Invasion, and a hospital commander during Desert Storm, all the while continuing clinical surgical practice. While striving to practice the complete discipline of surgery, he is aggressively pursuing the leading edge of advanced technologies to formulate the architecture for the next generation of Medicine.

Dr. Vinay Mehindru, MD, MBA

Chief Medical Officer Integrated & Regenerative Medicine
Dr. Mehindru is an accomplished physician executive with over 25 years of healthcare experience that includes population health, physician performance management and building physician alliances with clinical and financial integration. He is well known for taking vision and transforming it into reality through sound strategy development and execution.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Mehindru served as Chief Medical Officer for Wuesthoff Health System (now under Steward Health Care's ownership) where he led the licensing of a new Coronary Cath lab with interventional capabilities along with the development of a new surgical program. In 2011, he joined AdventHealth Waterman as Chief Medical Officer where he spearheaded the establishment of a new hospitalist program, and also received recognition for excellence in seven metrics under Partnership for Patients (a CMS sponsored program to reduce harm and improve quality). He was the executive sponsor for QUEST, a national program for improving quality and reducing cost.

His continued success led to Dr. Mehindru's appointment as the President of AdventHealth Physician Network, Tampa Bay (formerly called Physician Alliance of Florida Hospital) and AdventHealth Physician Network Ocala (formerly called Physician Health Partners at Munroe Regional). As the President of these Clinically Integrated Networks (CINs), and with his focus on population health management, he responsibly managed over 40,000 covered lives made up of; a self-funded employee health plan, a commercial health plan and Medicare beneficiaries. In his journey towards transforming health care from volume-based to value-based, Dr. Mehindru successfully built a network of over 1,000 physicians, established quality benchmarks and metrics, and bent the total healthcare spend cost curve from a historic annual increase of fifteen percent (15%) to just one percent (1%).

In his continued passion to improve outcomes for patients, Dr. Mehindru led the initiatives between the two major health systems in the Tampa Bay, Florida area, consisting of an exclusive health and wellness innovation partner for the first planned "Smart Gigabit Community," a 160 employee Home Health Care company, and a Joint Venture with the largest local radiology physicians group, including 16 outpatient imaging centers.

Dr. Mehindru served as a member of AdventHealth West Florida Division Strategy and Growth Council that oversees strategic initiatives of this $1.5 billion revenue division. He also served as a judge and a council member for Innovation X, National Council of Presidents. This is an AdventHealth annual premier competition for start-ups and mid-stage innovative companies to present their solutions to top health challenges that align with strategic AdventHealth imperatives.

His participation on AdventHealth boards and committees also included the Population Health Service Organization, the Accountable Care Organization, and the Population Health IT.

Dr. Mehindru completed his internal medicine residency with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and emergency medicine residency with the University of Florida, and also received his executive MBA in healthcare management from University of Texas at Dallas.

Miguel de la Garza, M.D., DABA, DAPM

Dr. Miguel de la Garza is a board-certified physician who practices multidisciplinary interventional pain management in four offices in the Tampa Bay area. He performs interventional pain procedures, specializing in minimally invasive surgical decompression and/or fusion of herniated discs and spinal stenosis, implantable intrathecal pumps, spinal cord stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation. Dr. de la Garza has published numerous research papers and abstracts and has presented at regional and national academic conferences. He has lectured on the topics of anesthesia, interventional pain medicine, and addiction both nationally and internationally. He is also a consultant for numerous pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

He is the President Elect for the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, having received the service award in first year of being a board member and was awarded Pain Physician of the Year in 2018. He has testified to Florida Medicaid Formulary Committee on the topics of opioid abuse, abuse deterrence and appropriate measures to fight opioid abuse, misuse and diversion; several abuse deterrent molecules became preferred and non-abuse deterrent formulations were eliminated. He provided expert testimony on similar topics to state of Florida House and Senate helped enact laws ensuring parity of ADOs and non ADOs. He has also provided written correspondence to FDA subcommittees on topics of Abuse Deterrent Formulation standards. He is a member of Florida Society for Interventional Pain Physicians and Florida Medical Association Political Action Committee Boards. He is on the education committee which plans and oversees execution of the annual conference with over four hundred and fifty attendees, the largest symposium of it's kind with the state of Florida, and one of the largest in the United States. He has provided numerous lectures for this and other conferences over the last ten years

He is the chair person for the WCI Workers Compensation Pain Committee, which coordinates and advises organization for a yearly conference with greater than then thousand attendees yearly. He has given lectures on the topics of opioid pharmacology, abuse and addiction treatment, reduction on chronic pain after surgery and will lead a panel on medical cannabis, specialized non opioid treatments including injection treatments, ketamine infusions and how to determine causality for acute, subacute and chronic pain syndromes.

He is a member of the Florida Medical Association Political Action Committee Board, which oversees a yearly budget of approximately two million dollars. He has provided insight and expertise to the committee on the political climate regarding chronic pain, opioid, and acute pain regulations.

He is contributing author and editor for pain components of CME course and textbook: "Essential Elements of Personalized Analgesic Medicine." CME course is provided by LP3 Network internationally in United States, Canada and Australia, subsidiary of Medisca International. He a medical advisory board member of Aeon Health Care.

Dr. de la Garza received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2001 and performed his anesthesia residency at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care from 2001 to 2005. He then completed an interventional pain medicine fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic, in the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Management, finishing in 2006.

Dr. Rajen Naidoo, MD.

Chief Medical Director MEDICUS Health & Vitality Clinics (Regenerative Division)
A physician scientist with a doctorate in Medicine from Yale University, he also holds biomedical engineering degrees and completed Orthopedic Surgical training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

After a career teaching orthopedic surgery in NYC at Mt Sinai School of Medicine, Dr. Naidoo relocated to Florida where he established an orthopedic practice in Palm Beach and Broward counties. He joined MEDICUS Health & Vitality Clinics in 2018 and was promoted to Chief Medical Officer of the Regenerative Division beginning March 2019.

With attention to detail and a profound understanding of how the body moves and functions over time, Dr. Naidoo is able to help his patients heal from their injuries and return to lifestyles they once enjoyed.

Dr. Naidoo is a native of South Africa and in his early years proudly served the revolutionary army of Nelson Mandela in South Africa's struggle for freedom.

Lyn Yaffe, M.D.

Lyn Yaffe, MD, completed undergraduate education at the Johns Hopkins University, School of Arts and Sciences, majoring in biophysics, in 1968. He received his M.D. degree at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, in 1972, and completed pathology and research post-graduate training at Columbia University, New York, NY, with additional molecular biology research experience at the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology, in 1978.

Lyn began military service in late 1978 as a Principal Investigator at the Naval Medical Research Institute, Bethesda, MD, and maintained involvement in Navy medical R&D activities over the next twenty years, spanning laboratory bench-level research work in casualty care through medical research program management and development experience, particularly in combat casualty care initiatives. During his Navy career, he worked at the Naval Medical Research Institute, the Naval Medical Research and Development Command, the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and the Pentagon with frequent interactions with Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force medical research counterparts.

From 1995 through 1998, Lyn was Director of R&D at the Naval Medical R&D Command and Combat Casualty Care Research Area Manager. As Director of R&D, he had overall responsibility for an annual $120 million research budget to support both intramural Navy medical research laboratories and extramural/contract research programs. Lyn retired from the U.S. Navy Medical Corps effective 1 June 1998. After Navy retirement, Lyn joined Alion Science and Technology, McLean, VA, as a consulting medical research investigator in late July 1998, remaining strongly interested in advanced life support technologies and their integration into emergency medical care.

Besides being on the Medical Board of MEDICUS HEALTH & VITALITY CLINICS, LLC, Lyn has been dedicated to the efforts of EPR-Technologies, Inc., completing clinical trials and obtaining FDA approvals of first generation EPR products that preserve human life through advancements in emergency, rapid, profound hypothermia and delayed resuscitation, all in the effort to save a life when standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) fails. Lyn has been instrumental in securing U.S. Department of Defense funding that allowed the University of Pittsburgh, Safar Center for Resuscitation Research, to initiate the development of EPR as well as the ongoing FDA approved EPR clinical trial at Maryland Shock Trauma, in severe trauma patients who have suffered a currently unrecoverable cardiac arrest.

Lyn has over 50 scientific publications in the peer reviewed medical literature as well as several patents related to emergency medical techniques and devices.

Thomas J. Lewis, PhD.

Thomas J. Lewis, PhD is an Inorganic and Physical Chemist with degrees from (MIT) Massachusetts Institute of Technology and (WPI) Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

In addition to obtaining a Ph.D., Dr. Lewis' has training from the Harvard School of Public Health in Toxicology, Industrial Hygiene, and a certificate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts in Industrial Hygiene. He is a frequent presenter at scientific and medical conferences, and has published scientific papers. Dr. Lewis holds patents (pending) on novel approaches to treating cancer and methods and approaches for treating chronic diseases of aging including Alzheimer's disease and macular degeneration. In addition he has patents pending on a new risk calculator for chronic disease which he has trademarked "chronic disease temperature(tm)."

Dr. Lewis along with Dr. Trempe publish a 'substantial" book on Alzheimer's disease titled, "The End of Alzheimer's Disease A Differential Diagnosis Toward a Cure." Elsevier Publishing has just released the 2nd edition. In addition, Trempe and Lewis have published a follow-on book titled, "Quarterback Your Own Health - How to Take and Lower Your Chronic Disease Temperature. Memberships: ACS-American Chemical Society; A4M-American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine; Tau Beta Pi-National Engineering and Science Honor Society.

Michael Carter, M.D.

Dr. Carter is a Board Certified Physician with 26 years' experience as an anesthesiologist, Anti-Aging doctor, Cosmetic surgeon, and Functional and Integrative medicine practitioner licensed in multiple states. Dr. Carter also offers concierge level coaching and care to patients domestically and internationally via telemedicine virtual consultation sessions. Dr. Carter seeks to find the Root cause of what is interfering with the body's ability to stave off disease syndromes and he provides the combination of natural supplements, effective diet and eating strategies as well as effective exercise regimens that enhance the ability of his patients to detoxify, rejuvenate and regenerate for optimal health.

Rachna Singh, M.D.

Dr. Singh is a leader in the evolution of wellness-based medicine. She went to medical school in India where she learned the value of holistic health care. After finishing her residency and a clinical research fellowship in the United States she skillfully integrated holistic preventative and wellness protocols within Rheumatology and Chronic Pain treatment programs. She is also certified in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine.

David S. Zamikoff, DC.

Dr. David S. Zamikoff earned his doctorate from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, California. He is currently licensed in Florida. Dr. Zamikoff is Board Certified both Nationally and at the State level. Dr. Zamikoff holds certification in operating room protocols and Manipulation Under Anesthesia by the American Academy of Manual and Physical Medicine. Dr. Zamikoff holds a diplomate degree from the American Academy of Trauma Professionals and is the current President of the Florida chapter.
